is to godown the sapphire bowl which is to theright and let’s start at the sapphirebowl it’s the hardest because theentrances are the trickiest to get intoit involves straight lining sometimeswith some rocks and some ice they’re allrated as triple black so let’s get overthere to get to the sapphire bowl you’regonna traverse along the right side herejust beautifulcliff signs everywhere on spankies itpretty much is there because there are

competent double black everything kindof skieryou don’t want to come in here look atthis guys what a beautiful day this isthe sapphire bowl it’s beautiful this isthe first entrance i call this one theuh the bomb shoot it’s basically just astraight line down it gets much crazierat different times of the year so thisis the straight line you can see the icecave all the way over there ice creamice cream ice cream entrance number twoit’s usually a fair bit icier so you can

a sapphire bowl the area above there ispermanently closed anyways let’s get inhere let’s get some good turns take ajump turnit’s pretty soft another jump turnand then the best way to get throughthese entrances is the straight lineso just get inthere we go oh it’s powder in here thislooks awesome in here you got the twoentrances in the middle you got the oneentrance of the corner hereand you’ve got the fourth kind of

entrance here and then you’ve got thefourth entrance off the cliff on thatside that one’s the most exposed down tothe right here that’s called thesapphire shoots it gets cliffy i’ll putin some footage of me skiing thesapphire shoots right nowgreat skis baby it’s not jumping offthat cliff todayit’s a great day for hey boysbut i’m going to go do a run calledd guys get creative and come intosapphire a bunch of different ways what

hard to see in this light what’s goingon i can’t see a damn thing i’m actuallynot going to ski this i don’t think itlooks all that great right now becausethe light’s so flat i can’t actually seeyou know where i’m coming from where i’mgoing super mellowoh that smells pretty nice in herethere’s a layer of fresh powder and getit across just perfect so this bringsyou right inback into the diamond bowl oh that’ssweet run it’s like a little half bites

so thisis the diamond bowlfrom the bottom you’re entering up thereget the most bang for your buck in termsof fall line without hiking you justgotta dodge the cliffs when you get insapphire on zed across the next runwe’re gonna dois the diamond bull so the diamond ballyou can come right down through themiddle or you can go to the right it’sall fun yeahcome to

diamond bowlnice little kind of soft wind packstill feels pretty good anyway into thediamond bowl works that’s the highestway and you can come just down a bit youjust got to dodge the one big cliff inthe middle or you can come in and aroundthe sidethere’s a run we came down last time ifyou stay up to the left kind of aroundthis corner this runs called kelvin sowe came down through the middle of theuh the diamond bowl last time but from

your uncle watch kind of for the cliffsin the middle and cut in between but forfun we’re gonna hang a left try and findsome better snowniceoh yeah look at that little thing mighthave to come screaming out of thatbecause this looksmuch more enjoyableoh yeah no problemso much adventuring you can do just inthe diamond bowl tons of differententrances in

god it’s a beautiful day out here nowit’s time to hit ruby have a good oneguysski blades up spanky’s you’re a legend[Music]now it’s timefor the one on the far leftthe ruby bowlto get to the ruby bowlyou ski along this kind of traverseright hereand you do a little bit of climbing inyour skis if you’re going to do ruby

to do it it’s called the spanky shootit’s not really that much of a shoot itgives you the most fall linewhen doing ruby bowl just beautifulisn’t it i love this huge rock when it’snot covered in snow don’t go anywherenear this side because they’re massivecliffsit gives you a good viewof the other side so there’s the ridgelooking back towards the glacier chairyou can skiup on the corner

where you can hug this rockfor a more exhilarating entrance usuallyit is a sheet of icenot so bad actuallyso there’s the entrance in there sohere’s the whole ruby bowl when you skithe ruby bowl you have two options youcan traverse across and ski the far leftside i forget what that’s calledyou can ski the far left side oryou can ski the right side it’s all fairgame there’s just a cliff kind of in themiddle right there

just came down and coming around thatcorner spanky’s shoulderand that’s the easiest road ohwatch out for the abbey avi debris youcan’t actually hike up into that shootat all which is too bad oh yeahoh yeahniceoh some soft snow feels goodwho’s looking up at the ruby ball gotthe cliff in the middle there’s a spankyshoot that’s the spanky shoulderthe easiest way in

oh yeahit’s been a nice bit of powice palit’s pretty good now next i’ll show youguys the easiest play-dohalbeitit’s still for experts but it’s theeasiest way downyet another climb up spankies theeasiest way is through the garnet bowlit cuts straight across the garnett bowlif it’s your first time trying spankiesthat’s the way i would recommend it to

because even if you think you know whereyou’re going there’s a lot of cliffspushed everywhere soright across it come kind of over thishumpthese turns are nice up high oh it feelsgood to have some cold snowso much easier to turn on you and thento finish it off the easiest wayyou just come right in through herethere’s a ruby bowl we came down fromthere and we did the high traverse youcan see it across from us back here it’s

then you can just ski to the middle ofthe bowl and down[Applause]i’m right in the middle of ruby bowl andyou ski out back to glacier roadi’m so stoked i finally got to do aspanky’s guide for you guys i know it’sconfusing for people starting out sohopefully now you got a general idea ofthe different balls and what you can dobased on your skill level it’s best ifyou’re a competent double black skier tobe going in there to begin with i think

a playground in there there’s a millionlines you can do of varying difficultiesbut it’s serious terrain so make sureyou’re always careful in there if you’regoing to try a new line always spot itfrom below sometimes it’s a great ideato ski the black home glacier and lookat the bottom of all the different bowlsto kind of see if there’s something thatyou would be comfortable with and yourskill level would apply to but hopefullyyou guys can go now and use thisknowledge or maybe you’re watching this
